Demand for grain transshipment and processing services in Russia is currently far greater than stevedoring companies can accommodate. NCSP Group is therefore moving aggressively to expand its transshipment capacity.

In 2008 the company commissioned a new terminal for the transshipment of grain and oilseeds with capacity of 500,000 tonnes per month. The $82.6 million terminal is the largest and fastest transshipment facility in Russia. It has capacity to store 120,000 tonnes of grain and berth infrastructure that can handle ships with tonnage of up to 63,000 tonnes.

The throughput capacity of the existing grain terminal will soon be increased by 2 million tonnes per year. The terminal was designed and built to allow for future expansion.

The project includes plans to expand PJSC NGT’s grain storage capacity to 160,000 tonnes and increase the throughput capacity of rail and truck unloading facilities from 2.9 million tonnes to 3.8 million tones and from 700,000 tonnes to 2.8 million tonnes per year, respectively. An additional conveyor line and a third ship loader will be installed at Pier No. 3 to increase ship loading volume and speed
