Today Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port Public Joint-Stock Company (short business name — NCSP PJSC) is the largest port operator of Russia by volume of cargo turnover. The port handles up to 75 million tons of different general, bulked and fluid cargoes per year.

NCSP PJSC is the leader in transshipment of the Russian foreign trade freight flows. The company provides handling of 45 % of raw sugar from the whole Russian import volume, 41 % of grain export volume, 17% of petroleum and petroleum products export volume correspondingly and a considerable part of metals and fertilizers export volume.

NCSP carries out handling operations and other transport services using its own pick-and-place machinery, storages and other port facilities. Vessels of Panamax-class can be handled on the dry-cargo berths and VLCC-class vessels can be handled on the oil-loading terminals. Depth of berths permits to handle vessels of 250 ths. tons deadweight.

The maximal depth of the dry-cargo berths is 13.5 meters and the maximal depth of the oil-loading terminals is 24 meters. Non-freezing Tsemesskaya Bay and the existing system of piers and wave breakers provide the whole-year navigation at the port.

Safety of navigation is provided by the Vessel Traffic Service, which controls navigation within the harbor area, at anchoring and on the berths using a specialized computer-aided system. Apart from highly developed berthing infrastructure, Novorossiysk Sea Port is connected with the main industrial and administrative centers of Russia, Transcaucasia and the Middle Asia by a multibranch network of railroads and highways. Oil terminal of the company is connected with the major oil-producing regions of Siberia, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan by oil-trunk pipelines system.

Existing transport communications are expanded due to availability of direct access to the developed «river — sea» transport system through the adjacent Azov Sea directly connected with the country’s river system. All these communications contribute to uniqueness of port facilities of NCSP PJSC in terms of consolidation and batching of freight shipments for vessels transporting cargos through inland waterways.
