Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port Group (NCSP Group or the Group) (LSE: NCSP, Moscow Exchange: NMTP) announces that its consolidated cargo turnover for the full-year 2014 amounted to 131 131.6 thousand tonnes.

Total gain in volumes of all types of cargo comprised 9 616.4 thousand tonnes, and total decrease in all types of cargo was 19 466.8 thousand tonnes, as a result Group’s total cargo turnover reduced by 9 850.4 thousand tonnes in 2014.

Commenting on the operating results for 2014 CEO of PJSC NCSP Sultan Batov said:

«Our key accomplishment in 2014 is increasing transshipment of bulk and general cargo by 40% and 12% year-on-year respectively.

Grain was one of the leaders in growth both in absolute and relative terms thanks to the rich harvest of 2014-2015 season. Grain volumes increased by 3 369.2 thousand tonnes or 82.9% year-on-year in 2014, which outpaces 62.3% year-on-year industry’s total growth by substantial 20.6 percent points according to ASOP.

Transshipment of ferrous metals and pig iron grew by 992.3 thousand tonnes or 11.6% year-on-year, twice as fast as industry’s total growth rate, thanks to improved market situation and Group’s attractive transshipment terms.

We have also recorded strong increase in volumes of containers, coal, and timber, all of which were growing two and more times faster than the industry on the average.

Negative effect on our volumes in 2014 was produced by factors beyond the control of the Group. This includes a reduction in total export of crude oil from Russia, and a material reallocation of export volumes between pipelines and ports in the Far East and the North West regions on Russia. In total volumes of other cargo reduced immaterially.

On the other hand we increased transshipment of oil products by 3 579.7 thousand tonnes or 14.8% year-on-year on the back of growing domestic oil refining».

Liquid cargo

Transshipment of liquid cargo in 2014 totaled 101 498.8 thousand tonnes, including: 72 780 thousand tonnes of crude oil; 27 784.9 thousand tonnes of oil products; 644.2 thousand tonnes of UAN liquid fertilized, and 289.7 thousand tonnes of seed oils.

Crude oil volumes reduced by 18 955.9 thousand tonnes or 20.7 % year-on-year.
Oil products volumes increased by 3 579.7 thousand tonnes or 14.8% year-on-year.

Grain volumes increased by 3 369.2 thousand tonnes or 82.9% year on year thanks to a good harvest. Group’s volumes outpaced industry’s total growth by 20.6 percent points.

While transshipment of iron ore and ore concentrate reduced by 251.0 thousand tonnes or 12.9% year-on-year, NCSP Group was able to attract a material volume of this cargo and outperformed the industry, while total volumes or iron ore at Russian seaports reduced by 18% according to ASOP.

Transshipment of coal in 2014 grew by 298.1 thousand tonnes or 33.0% year-on-year, twice as fast as the industry’s total growth.

General cargo

General cargo volumes in 2014 totaled 11 846.8 thousand tonnes, of which:
9 546.6 thousand tonnes of ferrous metals and pig iron; 1 027.7 thousand tonnes of non-ferrous metals; 626.0 thousand tonnes of timber; 291.4 thousand tonnes of perishable cargo; and 355.1 thousand tonnes of other cargo, including automobiles in the amount of 5 614 pieces.

Improved export markets for Russian steel and pig iron in 2014, and Group’s attractive transshipment terms helped to increase volumes of this cargo by 992.3 thousand tonnes or 11.6% year on year, which is twice more than industry’s average growth of 5.9% year-on-year, according to ASOP.

Concentrating non-ferrous metals’ traffic allowed the Group to maintain these volumes around last year’s level, while total reduction of non-ferrous metals transshipment at Russian seaports in 2014 reached 12.5% year-on-year, according to ASOP.

Thanks to a revival in the market transshipment of timber cargo increased by 168.1 thousand tonnes or 36.7% year-on-year versus industry’s total growth of 9.6% year-on-year, according to ASOP.
