NCSP Group is a Russian group of companies that provide stevedoring and port services.
The group is the largest port operator in Russia by cargo turnover and handles more than 80 million tonnes of cargo annually, accounting for more than 15.5% of total cargo turnover at Russian seaports. NCSP Group includes PJSC NCSP, OJSC NLE, OJSC IPP, PJSC NGT, JSCP Fleet of NCSP and OJSC NSRZ, which provide stevedoring and port services at the Novorossiysk Port, and LLC BSC, which operates a container terminal at a port in Baltiysk on the Baltic Sea, in the Russian exclave of Kaliningrad.
Most Group operations are centered at Novorossiysk, which is a key gateway for Russian import and export cargo and is the sixth largest port in Europe by cargo turnover.* NCSP Group accounts for 97.4% of total cargo turnover by stevedoring companies in Novorossiysk. Novorossiysk is exceptionally well positioned in regard to regions of the world that are Russia’s most important trading partners. The port lies at the crossroads of international transport corridors that connect Russia to the Mediterranean Sea, the Middle East, Africa, South and Southeast Asia, and the Americas. The Group handles cargo shipped to and from the southern and central regions of Russia, including the Urals and the Volga region, as well as Central Asia. Tsemes Bay, where the port is located, is ice-free in winter and provides yearround business for Group companies. In addition, the port’s system of seawalls and breakwaters provides sufficient protection for port facilities, minimizing downtime due to weather conditions. NCSP Group operates the deepest berths in the CIS and Baltic region (maximum depth is 24.5 meters at oil loading berths and 14.5 meters at berths for transshipment of bulk, general and container cargo). The Group’s ability to accommodate large vessels enables shippers to significantly reduce freight charges on shipments to Novorossiysk as opposed to smaller ports, and the ability to accommodate large shipments of cargo at port warehouses attracts exporters operating on FOB terms. The Group has well-developed port, pipeline, rail, road and warehouse infrastructure. NCSP Group clients include major Russian and international companies such as oil majors Lukoil, Rosneft, Surgutneftegas, Tatneft and TNKBP Holding, metals and mining giants UC RUSAL, Norilsk Nickel, Kazakhmys Corporation, Novolipetsk Steel and Mechel, as well as United Grain Company, Glencore Grain Trade, Bunge, Cargill, Louis Dreyfus Сommodities, ZIM, OOCL, CMA CGM, Hapag Lloyd, NYK Line and China Shipping Container Line, among many others. NCSP Group in January 2011 acquired Primorsk Trade Port Ltd, the largest stevedoring company in Northwest Russia, servicing exports of crude oil shipped through the Baltic Pipeline System, as well as oil products. Primorsk Trade Port is the second largest stevedoring company in Russia by cargo turnover and the acquisition will have a major positive impact on the Group’s business, providing access to new markets and new opportunities for growth. NCSP Group’s main competitive advantages are: • Prime location at the crossroads of international transport corridors • Natural deep-water, ice-free port allowing year-round navigation • Ample covered and open-air storage facilities • State-of-the-art handling equipment • Extensive road, rail and pipeline transport infrastructure • Rapid response to shifts in trends on the Russian and global shipping markets * By cargo turnover in 2010 (source: NCSP Group and the largest ports in Western Europe), not including PTP Ltd.
